Privacy Policy

Last updated August 24, 2026

This explains what Jack Christensen, doing business as Chip, collects when you use Chip, why, and who else touches it. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than the usual fog.

What we collect

What we do not collect

Cookies and local storage

Chip stores your progress and your sign-in session in your browser's local storage, plus two random ids used to count visits without identifying you. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Clearing your browser storage signs you out and removes the local copy of your progress. If you have an account, the synced copy comes back when you sign in again.

Who else touches your data

Each of them is a service provider working on our behalf, not a buyer of your information.

How long we keep it

Your account and progress stay until you ask us to delete them. Analytics events are kept for as long as they are useful for understanding how the product is used. Stripe keeps billing records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, including access, correction, deletion, and the right not to have it sold. We honour those requests at the same address, and we do not sell personal information in the first place.

Children

Chip is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will remove it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Our database enforces row-level security, which in plain terms means one account cannot read another's data even by asking directly. No system is perfect, but we do not cut corners here.

Changes

We will post updates here and change the date at the top. If we ever start using advertising or third-party measurement tools, this page will say so before we do.
